Many people with Parkinson’s Disease find that having a support group is tremendously effective in helping them cope with the day-to-day realities of the disease. We are happy to be able to facilitate the benefits of a support group for our Parkinson’s patients by hosting a new group that will meet monthly at our facility, offering the opportunity for a good exchange of practical information, sharing of experiences, and updating on medical news and treatments.
The first meeting of our group will be on Friday April, 20, 2018, at 1:00 pm. We will provide lunch, and our topic for this meeting will be Parkinson’s Moving Day. Moving Day is the National Parkinson’s Foundation’s annual walk to stimulate understanding, awareness, and funding for Parkinson’s Disease. The walk in Mobile will be held on Saturday, April 21, at Springhill College. If you are interested in attending our support group meeting – and learning more about Moving Day! – please call (251) 287-8946, so we will know how many lunches to plan for.
Beginning in May, meetings of the support group will be held on the LAST Friday of each month at 1:00 pm. We will have lunch at each meeting, and we will bring in speakers to provide information on a variety of things specifically for our Parkinson’s patients.
